We’re teaming up with some of our friends in coffee, cooking, and spirits to bring you 12 different holiday coffee recipes using our products!
Drink Twelve: Gingerbread Coffee
On the final day of our 12 Drinks of December, we wanted to share a Gingerbread Coffee recipe using the Travel Press P1!
- 20g coarse ground coffee (we used Social Coffee People’s Daily)
- 300g water at 205°F for coffee
- 1 cup water for syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 8 cloves
- ½ tsp allspice
- ½ tsp peppercorns
- ½ tsp nutmeg
Fill the bottom of the press with hot water to pre-heat. Grind coffee coarsely. Pour out pre-heat water before putting coffee grinds into the empty press. Pour hot water in up to the MAX COFFEE line, and stir to ensure all grinds are wet. Let it brew for four minutes and then press filters down.
Create simple syrup base by heating water with sugar and honey until dissolved. Add spices, and simmer for half an hour. After letting it cool down, strain through a sieve and put into a bottle for easy storage in fridge.
Add Gingerbread syrup to Travel Press coffee to taste by pouring a tsp at a time of syrup through the slots in the lower drinking lid. Adding milk is optional. Enjoy!
