Drink Eleven: Spiked Winter Mulled Coffee
Will Pitts, Owner of Forts Cafe and 2020 UK Coffee In Good Spirits Champion, has made a Spiked Winter Mulled Coffee! This one is a classic that will warm you up and give you that little energy boost you need! Find out how to make this drink using the Press P7 by scrolling below.
- 50g course ground coffee
- 500g water just off the boil
- 1 clove
- 1 cardamom pod
- 1 star anise
- Orange peel
- 40ml Kahlua coffee liqueur
- 20ml whisky
- ESPRO Press P7
- Measuring Jug
- 2 thick wine glasses
Put the spices and coffee in the Press P7. Add the water and stir. After 3:30 time, stir again, then slowly plunge the plunger for 30 seconds, finishing the brew time at 4:00. Decant the brewed coffee into a measuring jug, and add the Kahlua and whisky. Stir until it’s all mixed in. Decant the drink into the two wine glasses, then flame the orange peel into the drinks, before rimming the glasses.
The result is a warming, mulled style coffee with orange and spice. Super comforting and easy to drink!
